Little Miss: This is sooo cool , Mum!

New Meccano...

Mr Happy got some Meccano for Christmas so when we got home yesterday, it was one of the first things he wanted to pull out! I spent quite some time putting together this very involved vehicle for him. He immediately needed someone to ride on it - and one of his new Diego guys was perfect! But would he smile for a picture? Of course not!

Big Day Out...

Yesterday we decided to take the kids to Dreamworld for the day. We didn't tell them until just before we left but we were surprised how much Little Miss remembered from a couple of years ago. After a nice long drive, with lots of "are we there yet?"'s (as trained by Grandad last week - thanks Dad) we arrived and excitement bubbled! You can see we did all the little kid stuff - Wiggles World, patting kangaroos, riding the Blue's Clues ride (yes, all of us), face painting for Little Miss Rainbow Butterfly, train riding, river cruising, ice cream, and the amazing ball house. A huge day (with another big drive home at the end) but they LOVED it and it was lots of fun. Now we're set for a recovery day at home before the big Christmas days.

Jewellery...

Look at our new jewels! We spent some time today threading beads and here's the results: a necklace by Mr Happy (long curvy shaped one on left), a bracelet for Mummy (furthest from the camera), and bracelet, necklace and ring for Little Miss.

Rainy Day...

Crafty Daddy went out to mow the lawn after Church today, worried that it might rain later... and it did! But did he come in then? No! Mr Happy went out and joined him to play in the rain!

Haven't disappeared completely...

I know I haven't posted for a little while and I've been wanting to, but life was a little busy this week. However new computer is set up so hopefully tomorrow I'll get the chance to download photos and blog! Stay tuned!

Last day of Prep...

Well, we made it! Little Miss did her last day of Prep last week. I can't believe how quickly the year has passed and how much she has grown up while she's been there. She's had a great year with Mrs B, and is so ready for Grade 1. But the holiday will be a nice break from getting up and out the door each morning.

Seeing red...

In our pots of course! Our chilli is starting to turn red, and we have a red flower in our other pot. Isn't it pretty?

Christmas cards...

How quickly our Prep year has gone by! Little Miss has today taken Christmas cards for the kids in her class, complete with handwriting by her and stickers for all. I got inspired yesterday after reading Shelle's post about making cards for her girls - thanks for the idea, Shelle! So I did most of the creating during the day, then Little Miss finished them off and wrote them after school and this morning. She was so excited! Unfortunately Mr Happy has what looks like the start of conjunctivitis this morning so I didn't want to take him into school, so I didn't see her giving them out. But I know she would have had fun with it!

Christmas at Playgroup...

We had our last playgroup for the year this week. It was kind of sad because Mr Happy and I love going! Also because one of our dear friends will be moving away and won't be there next year. But it was fun too, with party foods and party games and, of course, Santa! I forgot my camera so these are taken with my phone. But hopefully another mummy got better ones.

Play day...

We had play day with Buzz Lightyear and Little Miss O today. Since we won't have too many more of these, I decided to take a few pictures. Little Miss was home "sick" today so she was excited about the company - after forcing her to rest for a while this morning. And when they were needing little break from all the playing, we sat down to watch TV. Note: they all on one couch, at one end of it... such good friends;-)

Not even a teenager yet...

But already has the phone thing happening! Loved that call to Grandma yesterday;-)

Dinner conversations...

Always a source of interesting conversation with the kids: the dinner table.

Tonight Little Miss told me about Santa's "good list" and "bad list". If you're on the "bad list" you get no presents. If you're on the "good list" you get whatever you asked for:-) But not sure how you get from the "bad list" to the "good list" if you've been bad...

Then Mr Happy was looking in concern at the floor next to his chair...
Mummy: Did you drop some food?
Mr Happy: No... it jumped!
Amazing jumping rice we have here!

Christmas train...

A new addition to the Christmas decorating this year has been the train under the tree. Needless to say, Mr Happy loves it! Unfortunately I didn't realise it would play loud music each time it was turned on. Not such a good thing early in the morning... But still a nice addition to Christmas;-)

of Mr Happy can be so hard lately! He's such a clown! He likes to run at the camera at the last minute.... or move out of the shot suddenly... or pull the hat over his eyes!!

Nativity toy...

Hidden away with the Christmas decorations, was this Little People treasure. The kids love having a Christmas toy that they can play with - unlike the Christmas Tree which they are itching to play with but have been warned off! Interestingly, it has sparked interest in all the other Little People toys too.

Christmas is coming...

We caused great excitement here yesterday by putting up the Christmas Tree. Now I know it's kind of early, but with the busy weekends coming up we decided this was the day to do it. Besides the kids are only this age once so they might as well enjoy it to the max!

Love my iPhone...

Did I mention lately how much I love my iPhone? Well, I just downloaded an application that allows me to sit here in the park, keep an eye on Mr Happy who is making me pretend coffee, and blog at the same time.


Crafty Mummy

I'm in a fishbowl...

Or a least that what it feels like today! We have painters here to repaint our deck and a few other spots. They arrived bright and early at 6:45am - thank goodness I had been warned! So they've got rid of mould on the ceiling area, sanded back everything, and started the painting. It's been a great excuse to turn on the aircon and stay in our cool haven all day;-)

Birthday party...

Yesterday we had a family birthday party in the Big Smoke for Cousin D. We cherish the chance to get together with the family and catch up. The kids have grown up so quickly and we don't see them often enough. So it was great to have lunch and see everyone. Unfortunately I didn't manage to get a shot of everyone, but I'll post some more tomorrow.

Sometimes I just don't get it...

In this case I don't get why Mr Happy is eating his snack facing backwards in the chair... He turns around, takes another piece of apple, then turns to face backwards again - as if this is perfectly normal! I just don't get it...
